Thanksgiving Reunion 2001
We returned from France to Indian Rocks Beach on Sept.
21. Marion went to Sacramento for a ten day visit with Lisa, Duncan,
Ethan and newest grand daughter, Allison. They would not be coming to Florida
for the family reunion.
We had decided to place Remedy on the market and return to life ashore
in Texas. We would buy a sail boat when Remedy sold, and explore the Gulf
Coast from Brownsville TX to Panama City FL. While Marion was
away, I set about the boat maintenance chores I had put off ... (because
we were having too much fun).
Our next big event was the bi-annual Thanksgiving Family Reunion. Once
again it was to be held on the Sun Coast of Florida. That's where most of
the family have settled.
For a chance to be a Millionaire place these ten Families in order of
distance from their residence to Indian Rocks Beach, Florida.

The roller coasters got most of our attention. Names I recall were Gwazi,
Python, Kumba, Scorpion, Stanley Falls, and Montu.
I got so battered on Kumba that I passed up on the Montu. Marion,
however, rode the Montu Twice!!!
Just as we were getting ready to ride Kumba,
Billy said "Dad, that's Derek Jeeter."
Sure enough it was, and Billy got his picture taken with the famous
Yankee Shortstop.

Everyone weighed in on the big scales at Publix Supermarket. The total
weight upon arrival was 3,847 pounds. At the end we weighed in at 3,901 pounds.
Not too bad considering appetites run amok.

After dinner on Wednesday
several of us developed the Third Eye Syndrome
For Thanksgiving we had a private room at the Brewmaster Restaurant and
enjoyed their buffet. A
Magician came and baffled all with slight of hand, card and mind tricks.
It was great.
Saturday turned into a day of just bumming on the Beach. We got out
the kites and the Stomp rocket and had a grand time crashing the kites onto
the top of the six story Condominiums. All were safely retrieved.
See you all in 2003.
