Flat Stanley goes to the Art Walk  Jan. 27, 2007


At 11:18 the Land Cruise to Galveston was canceled due to Inclement Weather and sparse response from the Membership.

At 12:33 the sun came out and the Weather looked Great: .Marion wrote: to the TMCA List:

"Hi Tmca'ers:   stay at home folks,,,those that just want to watch TVers:.

Remedy is going to Galveston to the Art Walk .   I will be having dinner at DiBella's probably by myself.
I scheduled this, so I will not renege.    I will bring Ed, and also Flat Stanley for the adventure.  
Those of you with kids will know who Flat Stanley is.     If you decide to come to Galveston, you can have your picture taken with Flat Stanley."

We took Flat Stanley out of his Brown Paper Envelope. He is Visiting us from Folsom, California where he lives with Allixon. We promised Allison we would show Stanley a good time.

He is definitely ready to go to the Art walk.

Our first stop was the Galveston Artists Show on PostOffice Street.

He was a Juggler and taught Stanley the Loops.

Then He met a Game Fish who grabbed his Arm.

It was pretty exciting at the Art show.

After the Art show we Introduced Stanley to Andy Upchurch and Vickie, S/V Manana . We were at Di Bella's for Dinner and also were surprised to meet met Rob and Carolyn Peterson, S/V Piovere.
They Had Googled Flat Stanley and had met him on the Internet before we got to The Restaurant

When we returned from Galveston there was an Email from Stan Clark:

Marion Had to Explain

Hi STAN:

I took FLAT Stanley , not fat Stanley to Galveston. He did not care
what the weather was. He enjoyed the art walk and also dinner at
DiBella's. My friend was wonderful. Waited in the car when I
could not take him with me. He is kinda small, and I was afraid I
would lose him in the crowds. I introduced him to Andy and Vicky at
dinner and they were very impressed how well he behaved....

Now if you do not know what I am talking
about.,,,...

Stanley. He is very popular......
Art walk was wonderful,,,can't wait for it to come around
again.....You guys missed a great time.
Get off your Tushes,,,,,,,,,,,and get involved with TMCA. Our
activities are designed to introduce you to other cruisers and find
activities that will interest you......

When Stanley returns to California, I will need  the regular membership to come to these events.  
Otherwise, I will need to call him back to Texas.
