Redfish
Island and A Frame Anchorage
Approach to Redfish from Marker 2
Heading 110 Distance 5.5 NM
Always approach Redfish Island
from the North side. There are shoals
and shallows to the South.
The Shallows on the northern side are marked by double Diamond
Green Shoal markers.
Do not pass between these marks
and the shore; you could go aground.

This photo of the Island was taken
during construction.
The Anchorage provides protection from wind and wave action
from
about NNW clockwise to SSW.
Ships wakes do not enter the
anchorage.
The Main Island is built of Breadbox sized Limestone boulders.
It's tough walking. Wear good athletic shoes.
The Ship Channel side has golf ball sized gravel on the shoreline.
Note:
The A Frame Anchorage provides better shelter for winds South clockwise
to West
