Yacht Club
Houston Yacht Club is a 7 nm cruise from the Kemah Boardwalk.
There is shallow area extending out from Red Bluff so Its best to stand
off about 3/4 mile.
The route crosses the Bayport channel and ship and barge traffic can be
expected.
There is a pleasant anchorage on the North side of HYC.
Bayland Marina
Once past the Bayport channel there is wide open water for sailing to
Morgans point.
Enter the Houston Ship channel before HSC 89.
The entrance to Bayland is a
marked channel just past HSC 100
You will pass between a High range and a Low range marker
The water can be skinny at low tides and there is a shallow spot
at the marina entrance swing
wide before you head in to the docks.
The Marina is about 12 miles from Kemah boardwalk.
Bayland Marina is has fuel, bathhouse, convenience store,
and a Bar and Grill.

Cedar Bayou
Cedar Bayou (AKA Blaine's Bayou) leads to an old clay quarry in
Baytown.
At Morgan's Point you take a right an follow a well marked Barge
Canal 4 nm. to the Bayou entrance .
The Bayou bends and turns through scenic woods and wetlands for another
7 miles to the Anchorage
There is a fixed bridge with 50 foot clearance about 5 miles up the
bayou.
The Anchorage is 21 nm from Kemah Boardwalk.
