Matagorda Bay has three ports of call
Palacious, Port Lavaca(not shown), Port O'Conner
Half Moon Reef entends Southwest from the point of land near the Mile 454 Moorings
With the exception of the reef area the bay has good depth like Galveston Bay.
ICW 31 is the Eastern gathering/departure point for Matagorda Bay
The charts show a shoal marker west of ICW 31 at the end of Half Moon Reef.
There is a marked Channel from Palacious to the ICW pick it up around 20 to go to Palacious
There is a New North ICW Channel created for the tow boats Markers 2,6,10 above
The channel from 10 to Port O Conner is well marked and takes you to the North Jetty
There is persistent shoaling in the Original Southern Route from 99 to 105. AVOID that section
Take the new Northern Route instead.
